Tips for families:
- How much time do you need to explore the Toranzo Valley?
We recommend setting aside the whole day. The idea isn’t to rush but to enjoy the journey—stop to feed animals, play by the river, grab a snack at a local bar, or visit the Alceda park. - Can children do it?
If they can ride without training wheels, they’re ready. Since the route is straight, you can turn back whenever needed. Plus, the return is downhill, making it easier. For younger kids, we have trailers that fit up to two children. - How long does it take with kids?
It’s best to follow their pace—stop to feed a donkey, blow a dandelion, or skip stones in the river. Pack a picnic or plan to eat along the way or in Ontaneda. Starting in the morning and finishing after lunch is typical. Remember, the goal is to enjoy, not to finish the route.Bicis del Pas - Is it crowded?
Not at all. That’s the best part—while the rest of Cantabria may be busy, the Toranzo Valley will feel almost like your own. - Are there places to eat?
Yes, there are picnic areas along the way and some restaurants, though not many. We can recommend a few. In summer, you might need to book in advance.
